Domestic Travel Regulations As Of June 2008

In order to assist you in making your luggage choice for a particular trip, the following are the domestic travel baggage regulations as of June 2008. Always check with your individual airline as requirements may have changed. The regulations are all for bags under fifty pounds and under 62 linear inches (the height, plus the width, plus the depth) and they are PER PERSON.
Air Tran - 1st bag FREE, second checked bag $10 or $20, Additional 3-4 bags $50, Overweight fees: 51-70 lbs $29, 70-100lbs $69
Alaska - 1st bag FREE, second checked bag $25, Additional 3-4 bags $100, Overweight fees: 51-100lbs $50
American, 1st bag $15, second checked bag $25, Additional 3-4 bags $100, Overweight fees: 51-70lbs $50, 70-100lbs $100
Continental, 1st bag FREE, second checked bag $25, Additional 3-4 bags $100, Overweight fees: 51-70lbs $50, no bags over 70lbs
Delta, 1st bag FREE, second checked bag $25, Additional 3-4 bags $80, Overweight fees: 51-70lbs $80, 70-100lbs $100
Jet Blue - 1st bag FREE, second checked bag $20, Additional 3-4 bags $75, Overweight fees: 51-70lbs $50, 70-100lbs $100
Northwest - 1st bag FREE, second checked bag $25, Additional 3-4 bags $100, Overweight fees: 51-70lbs $50, no bags over 70lbs
Southwest, 1st bag FREE, second checked bag FREE, $25 for 3rd bag, $50 for 4th bag, Overweight fees 51-70lbs $25 Overweight fees 70-100lbs $50
United- 1st bag $15, second checked bag FREE, Additional 3-4 bags $100, Overweight fees: 50-100lbs $100
